109th Street And Broadway, Harlem, NY 1910

upclose-view-of-109th-street-broadway-upper-west-side-new-york-ny-1910-36An incredible up close intimate photograph on a bright sunny day at 109th Street and Broadway, on the Upper West side, Harlem, New York, 1910.

It’s amazing how comfortable the men working in the foreground and middle ground seem as they go about their day as if the photographer taking pictures is not there. We think the sign in the background above the horse-drawn wagon filled with bottles on the manure covered street are from the Stevenson’s Ales & Porter company. Stevenson’s were distributors of Ales, Porters and other goods in Harlem and the surrounding area during this period (Source).
