1st Anniversary Celebration of Community Matters NYC

In honor of the 1 st Anniversary of the Community Matters NYC initiative:

Join Community Works NYC, The Interchurch Center, NoMAA and Harlem Arts Alliance at the opening reception for two special exhibitions, featuring a guest performance by Bobby Sanabria & Quarteto Aché. 

The evening will include:

  • Special guest performance by multiple Grammy nominee Bobby Sanabria & Quarteto Aché
  • Meeting the Honorees and Artists
  • A silent auction offering art, artifacts and treasures from local artisans and businesses.
About the exhibits:

Latin Roots: Washington Heights/Inwood  honors four localactivists & celebrates the neighborhood’s distinct cultural and historical importance. It includes a pictorial timeline on the community’s rich history

A companion exhibit, Spirit of Community: Artists of Washington Heights/Inwood, features the work of eight artists, all of whom illustrate the timeless role the arts play in shaping, informing and documenting culture.
