We never thought we’d see the day when all the “Black media” are so impressed by Vogue creating an all Black issue for all those green dollars in black hands. What’s the big deal, Jet, Vibe, Ebony, Black Enterprise, Essence, has been publishing Black issues for years. Maybe they should publish a White issues?Here’s a sample of what they’re saying.
“Vogue featured nothing but Black women:
‘For the July issue of Italian Vogue, Mr. Meisel has photographed only black models. In a reverse of the general pattern of fashion magazines, all the faces are black, and all the feature topics are related to black women in the arts and entertainment. Mr. Meisel was given roughly 100 pages for his pictures. The issue will be on European newsstands next Thursday and in the United States soon after.’
Kudos to the Vogue Italia folks for making such a bold move (this is sure to piss off more than a few of their subcribers – hah!). This display of authentic Brown Beauty is a must see. Get a glimpse of what’s to come just below. “

“The publisher of Vogue was qouted as saying, “we’ve published white issues since the beginning, now we think the timing is right for one issue for each race going forward,” she continued, ”we’re planning a Red, Yellow, and Brown issues”.
