Ghandi’s words are inspiring, but often, we do not know where to begin or feel that our busy lives and careers make it difficult to be a part of shaping change.United Way believes that everyone has a part to play in improving the common good for all, and we are committed to providing everyone with simple yet meaningful ways to give back. That’s what we mean by LIVE UNITED.
We are calling on all New Yorkers to join us on Saturday, September 20, as we walk across the Brooklyn Bridge to raise awareness about the urgent need to improve the quality of Education, Income and Health in New York City.
We encourage you to walk with us! After the walk, you’re invited to the LIVE UNITED Volunteer Festival (co-presented by the Mayor’s Volunteer Center) where you, your family and friends can explore volunteer, advocacy and dozens of opportunities that will allow you to become a part of change you want to see!
Please register today. Families and friends are welcomed and every registered walker will receive a free LIVE UNITED T-shirt: http://unitedwaynyc.org/dayofaction2008/
PS: All donations and sponsorships in support of this walk are strictly voluntary. However, if you want to raise money, we greatly appreciate the extra support!
