The James Brown Collection will go on the auction block July 17, 2008 at Christie’s Auction House in New York. The collection includes more than 320 lots from the world and Harlem’s the Godfather of Soul’s South Carolina Home, from his famed jumpsuits to his numerous awards. The infamous blue satin cape embroidered with “Thy Name Is Godfather of Soul” and rhinestones, sequin and metallic embellishments. Estimate: $15,000-20,000 (Christie’s Images LTD. 2008).
