The Riverside Church will host its 18th Annual Career Day, “Imagine Life…Experience Freedom,”
This year’s program kicks off on Friday with a Career Day celebration featuring WLIB-AM’s Worship and Praise Choir along with several guest choirs.
Then on Saturday, students in 7th through 12th grades will have the opportunity to attend skills-based workshops, panels and seminars dealing with over 30 topics including marketing/advertising, business, law, health, sports and entertainment as well as careers abroad. Attendees will also receive college-prep guidance and hear from special guest speakers including Malikha Mallette, host of The Malikha Mallette Movement on WWPR- FM Power 105.1, and reporter Marcus Solis, on-air reporter for WABC-TV’s Eyewitness News. In addition to offering a vocational aptitude evaluation to assist teens in finding the vocation that’s right for them, the Church will provide computers and assistance for students to research careers and search for employment.
The day will conclude with a youth rally to stir up the students’ excitement for their futures.
The Riverside Church’s “Imagine Life…Experience Freedom” is sponsored by Pepsi Cola Bottlers of New York, Morgan Stanley, Subway (the 125th Street location), WLIB-AM, The Wall Street Journal, Essence Magazine and L.A.I.
