Saturday, February 21, 2009, from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, in honor of Black History month, the American Museum of Natural History joins forces with Community Works and New Heritage Theatre Group to present Harlem Serenade – A Moment in Time. This special daylong event will celebrate African–American history with a special passport to Harlem ’s rich artistic legacy.  Harlem Serenade explores the cultural capital of Black America through music, dance poetry, and film.  Hosted by Broadway actor and director, James Stovall, highlights of Harlem Serenade will include performances by the All-Star Orchestra of the National Jazz Museum in Harlem, led by the Jazz Museum’s executive director, Loren Schoenberg; Silver Belles – 2nd Generation, a group of exceptional senior female dancers; the Jitterbug Kids and Cotton Club Dancers, a group of dancers that capture Harlem’s Swing Era.  The afternoon will also feature screenings of the films Lullaby of Harlem and Hughes Dream Harlem.  A discussion led by 94-year-old actor/director/producer and founder of the Hadley Players, Gertrude Jeanette will follow the latter film.  Harlem Serenade will close with a performance by Broadway veterans Mabel Lee (Shuffle Along and Bubbling Brown Sugar); Harold Cromer (a member of the dance comedy team Stump & Stumpy); Baakari Wilder (Bring in Da’ Noise, Bring in Da’ Funk); and renowned tap dancer Michela Marino Lerman.

    Gentlemen:

TripAdvisor gave me your contact and I would like to report what happened me last March when visiting New York. I used exactly TripAdvisor because I wanted to watch jazz in Haarlem. It came immediately to my attention Harlem Heritage Tours, which seemed to be the best tour operator for that purpose. I contacted them through their site (http://www.harlemheritage.com/) and paid $250 for 2 people end of March. On the day of the tour I phoned them to confirm and Mr. Neal Shoemaker told me that the tour had been cancelled but he would refund what I had paid. After one month or so, nothing. I sent several email to them and finally they answered with many excuses and promising to refund that amount immediately. Obviously they did not and I sent another email informing Mr. Shoemaker that I would try everything to get my money back or at least advert other tourists against him. And sent a report to TripAdvisor which was published. Some days later I saw that TripAdviser was fuuk of new reports giving Harlem Heritage Tours incredible good marks. See hao far goes this Mr. Neal Shoemaker to defraud people! (http://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g60763-d618692-Reviews-Harlem_Heritage_Tours-New_York_City_New_York.html)
If you want I have emails from them to me and from me to them which prove what I am telling you.
Please let me know if you want those details.

    Best regards,
