Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010 kicked off with Fashion Night Out on Thursday September 10th.  Fashion Night Out gave retailers around the city a reason to extend their normal business hours in the name of fashion.  The idea was to create a buzz going into Fashion Week.  Entertainers, fashion designers, socialites and fashionatisas scurried about the city.

Music and Electronics store J&R Music World in downtown Manhattan, got in on the fashion bandwagon.  Model Carol Alt signed copies of her books Model, Inc and This Year’s Model upstairs, while Chico Debarge sang songs from his latest CD Addiction downstairs.

Not too far from J&R, in SOHO, it was very possible to run into some of fashion’s well known figures hopping in and out of the little boutiques.  Even late into the evening on Fashion Night Out, a stroll down Spring street afforded a glance of the model/designer Rachel Roy and songstress Estelle hopping out of a big truck and dashing into Rachel Roy’s store.

Just as fast as it started, it was over.   Mercedes-Benz IMG Fashion Week, as usual, presented designs by some of the most creative and sort-after designers from around the world.  From in side the Bryant Park tents to various venues around the City, we aimed to give you a little taste of the fashion week flavor through pictures.
