Haiti is still experiencing after shocks days after the devastating earthquake. It is clear that it will take a sustained global effort to help Haiti recover.
A group of NYC professionals put together a successful fundraiser Wednesday night at Arena in Mid-town Manhattan. This party for a cause featured the DJ talents of DJs Clue, D-Nice, Franky, Jon Quick, Kiss, Mick Boggie, M.O.S., Ted Smooth & Tony Touch. Hearts 4 Haiti partnered with Doctors Without Borders and YELE Haiti. All monetary proceeds generated from the event will be donated to Doctors Without Borders with a designation to the Haiti Earthquake Relief Effort. All food, clothing and supplies will be given to YELE Haiti.
Hearts 4 Haiti put out the call and it was answered in a big way. From the big name DJs who kept the music hot, to the line of supporters that extended around the block. Miss USA Kristen Dalton was in the building and New York City Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg took some time out of his busy schedule to address the crowd. The Mayor reiterated the important work that will be needed to go into rebuilding Haiti over the years to come and he stressed that we can not forget Haiti.
Before the night was over Hearts 4 Haiti raised $17, 000. Great job!
