Sonia Sanchez Tribute at the Harlem Book Fair

On Saturday, July 17, 2010 from 3pm – 5pm, poets, scholars, and musicians come together to honor the legendary poet, educator, playwright, and activist, Sonia Sanchez.  The 2010 Harlem Book Fair presents “Haiku & Handgrenades: Sonia Sanchez,” a tribute to Sonia Sanchez.  Confirmed participants include:  Sonia Sanchez, Haki R. Madhubuti, Max Rodriguez, Willie Perdomo, Tracie Morris, DuEwa Frazier, David Mills, Pineal E. Joseph, jazz percussionist, Eric Frazier featuring African drummers, and Atiba Wilson and the B4 Quotet (flute ensemble). Join us for this celebration!  Free and open to the public.  This event was funded in part by Poets & Writers, Inc. and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs.
