It might seem like summer only just ended, but your average child is already giddily anticipating Halloween. While Oct. 31st is still over a month and a half away, retail shops are already breaking out the black and orange and decorating their window displays with a plethora of seasonally-appropriate finery. Ask the nearest 6-year-old what they’re planning on being for Halloween, and you’re likely to be met with both a furrowed-brow and a lengthy rumination on the possibilities, clearly indicating that this is a question that has been weighing heavily on their mind for weeks, if not months. While the evening in question may have been hijacked in more recent years by adults looking for new reasons to party, Halloween remains first and foremost a children’s holiday.
In anticipation of this year’s festivities, Bonnie Fuller’s Hollybaby.com unveiled a somewhat jarring new gallery of the 10 Worst Kids’ Halloween Costumes Ever! Ranging from a pimp (above), others like prematurely coquettish devil-girl through an homage to The Situation from “Jersey Shore” and — surreally — a human toilet seat, these tacky costumes handily stride over the border of inappropriateness and blaze a veritable new frontier in bad taste.
