On September 30, 2010 Dinosaur BBQ reopened in a new location at 700 west 125th Street. To commemorate the move Dinosaur held a preview party on Tuesday September 29. The new location and restaurant are both a move in the right direction.
As we passed the Cotton Club the new location came into view. The large brick face building with it’s vertical neon sign immediate commands your attention. The restaurant’s name , which was simply painted on the brick face near the entrance, greeted us as we entered.
Upon entering the airy open interior gave the new Dinosaur an expansiveness, with a clear view from the bar the dinning area. The friendly, and relaxed atmosphere is great for intimate encounters and raucous good times with groups of friends. Live music, which will be a regular attraction at Dinosaur, completed the fun and frolic feeling.
For those of us looking for a great place for a second date, after the initial icebreaker encounter, Dinosaur is it. This is also a great place for family outings, where children and adults don’t have to worry about laughing too loud or having too much fun. The new Dinosaur BBQ has taken America’s trademark comfort food and placed in a relaxed, open, carefree environment.
BBQ aficionados will be pleased. Whether you are into pulled pork served with either mild or spicy vinegar based red barbeque sauce, traditional ribs, or chicken wings, the portions are ample and meat extremely succulent and juicy. This place is not for the culinary shy, so don’t be afraid to put your elbows on the table and eat with your hands.
