Walters World: Interview With Dudley Williams

Last week Walter Rutledge Harlem World‘s senior writer did an exclusive interview legendary dancer Dudley Williams at the HW offices.

For this historic interview Mr. Williams talked about dancing with Alvin Ailey, Martha Graham, dance history, present, life and the future of dance. The interview is an exceprt from an upcoming feature article on Alvin Ailey’s Three Black Kings. The completed aticle will also contain interviews with orginal cast members including Elbert Watson and Clive Thompson.

The work premiered in 1976 and will be presented  in it’s entirity for the first time in over 30 years this December in the Ailey season at the New York City Center.  Three Black Kings will be performed on December 15, 16, 17, 18 at 8pm December 19 at 3pm and 7:30pm.
