The Arts Horizons LeRoy Neiman Art Center celebrates the centennial of world-renowned, Harlem artist Romare Bearden with a “Learning with Bearden” event featuring a week-long art exhibition of selected Bearden works of art, along with Bearden-inspired creations done by students at the LeRoy Neiman Arts Center and area artists.
The exhibition runs from Friday, March 25th – Thursday, March 31st, from 11:00 am – 4:00 pm each day. Admission is free.

Video from Wynton Marsalis’s musical depiction of Bearden’s work. Visual Jazz, is a documentary about the life and work of Romare Bearden, one of Harlem’s greatest visual artist. The video is narrated by jazz musician Wynton Marsalis, who draws parallels between jazz and the art of Romare Bearden. Also viewers are treated to rare footage of Bearden speaking and creating prints of his work.
