Think you would make the perfect Tupac Shakur in a movie about his life? Well, the folks at Morgan Creek Productions, Skee.TV, and Karmaloop are giving you a chance to prove it.
Do you have the edge that Tupac had in life and in the film Juice, the story about four Harlem teens whose lives are changed when a store robbery goes wrong. Beginning this weekend, fans can upload video auditions for Antoine Fuqua’s upcoming biopic about the legendary rapper’s life to InSearchOfTupac.com.
“We’re looking for someone with the right mix of raw charm and charisma for the role,” said producer David Robinson in a press release. “At this point, we’re more concerned about finding someone with the ability to give their entire heart into the performance than just looks and personality.”
Fuqua has said he would prefer to have an unknown actor in the lead role.
“That’s the goal, I want to discover someone new,” Fuqua said. “I want to discover a lot of new people if I can. Obviously I’m going to have to put some people in it that you know, just because actors have different skills. I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world.”
The film is expected to begin filming in various locations in September.
