The International Working Women’s Day Committee sponsored a rally today in central Harlem to protest the war on women at home and worldwide. The gathering began at noon today and took place at the Harriet Tubman Memorial Plaza, located at 123rd Street and St. Nicholas Blvd.
Organizers proclaim that Governor Cuomo, Mayor Bloomberg and Wall Street have lead assaults on women, youth, students, labor and the working class communities of New York . The rally was co-sponsored by the Coalition to Save Harlem, TWU Local 100, Flipinas for Rights & Empowerment, GABRIELA USA, and the Women’s Fightback Network among others.
