Emanuel Gibson is an American singer-songwriter, rock musician and a member of the Harlem Arts Alliance (HAA).
Gibson’s new single as well has his west coast released single, “Stoned (In Southern California)” was produced by longtime former RCA recording artist Joe Taylor. He’s received high accolades from Quincy Jones who told him, “you have all the tools…to make great music”.
Gibson plays in a trio with drummer, Dorota Piotrowska and bassist Brandi Disterheft.
His diverse musical influences range from Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, Howlin Wolf, and The Rolling Stones, to Harlem’s very own James Brown. Despite the music being an influence, the most impactful influence on Gibson’s music has been Edgar Allan Poe. “I have been a fan of Poe since my third grade teacher read a snippet from The Raven to my class. I became so thrilled with the art of rhyming words and creating a story out of it. I purchased The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe and read it endlessly. My favorite poem of his is “Ulalume.” I would have loved to have met Poe.”
The multi-instrumentalist has been performing to promote his new single which was released spring 2011.
