Cohen’s Fashion Optical in Harlem
Clinton Squires, owner of Cohen’s Optical in Harlem, started in sales at Bergdorf Goodman in New York City. When a sales opportunity at Cohen’s Fashion Optical, along with the potential to increase his income, Squires positioned himself to make a major career move. He acted on it and bought a Cohen’s Fashion Optical franchise on the Upper West Side. When the next opportunity arose, he sold his first store and opened a franchise in 2005 on 125th Street in Harlem.
Today, after seven years in business, Squires commitment to Harlem has paid off. He spends most of his time in Harlem and supports local entities like the Blue Nile Passage youth program, Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement, Inc., (HCCI), and the ImageNation Cinema Foundation.
Exemplary service is the key to Squires’ success. “From the staff, to the physical space, to the product. I wanted to provide a professional environment where people are valued and treated with respect,” he says.
The store offers every kind of frame imaginable including styles from designers like Giorgio Armani and Dior, packaged with an eye exam.
