A neighborhood staple in East Harlem, the NY Daily News writes that The Sharing Place, at 333 E. 115th Street is the go-to spot for extremely well-priced clothing, books, toys and housewares. Through generous donations from the upper East Side and throughout the five boroughs, the store, run by Elsie Sanchez, brings together people in the community who might not normally have a place to shop. “We’re more than just a thrift store,” says Sanchez. “We’ve become a center for the neighborhood.” Now open for over 11 years, the store features yearly sales like the Spring Preview going on this Tuesday and Wednesday, 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Proceeds benefit the Little Sisters of the Assumption (LSA) Family Health Services next door.
