Join Broadway’s Porgy and Bess Norm Lewis At The Schomburg

Not every child gets to experience the awe-inspiring sights and sounds of the theatre. Thanks to a partnership between Enterprise Rent-A-Car and ArtsPower National Touring Theatre more than 500 students in  Harlem will experience the inspirational performance of the show, Four Score and Seven Years Ago, on Tuesday, April 3rd at The  Schomburg  Center  at 10:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

In addition, Norm Lewis, the current co-star of Broadway’s Porgy and Bess, and lead in ArtsPower’s Four Score and Seven Years Ago in 1991, will introduce the performance and return to his theatrical beginnings to share his wealth of experience with attendees.

Four Score and Seven Years Ago is an original and compelling drama about a young runaway slave, his burning desire to become a soldier in the Union army and his unlikely friendship with a private in the Confederate Army. ArtsPower’s patriotic and inspiring Civil War musical is a story of how freedom can begin with a simple act of kindness.

Enterprise  Rent-A-Car and ArtsPower presents, Four Score and Seven Years Ago, to more than X students in  Harlem .

Enterprise  and ArtsPower representatives, Norm Lewis of Broadway’s Porgy and Bess, local government officials and dignitaries and students of all ages will be available for interviews.

To motivate children not only to appreciate reading and the theatre, but also to teach children that a simple act of kindness can change someone’s future in a positive way.
