Harlem Details (Photo Essay), May, 2012

This red “pull down” Emergency Box was shot walking on the west side in Harlem around 122nd and 123rd Streets, the Box is right out of the 1980′s.

This silver painted almost invisible fire hydrant on the east side of the street is from the 80′s and 90′s sits alien on the block.

The green U.S. Post Office mailbox tagged with graffiti used to be painted USPO blue, now they are painted this odd lime green, we haven’t figured this one out yet.

  1. I think the green mailboxes are used by the post office for storage, and are not for people to mail their letters. The ones the public uses are still USPO blue. We have one of each on our corner.

  2. MDG,

I think you right on track with that.

  3. The trash cans on city streets are made in a upstate prison.

  4. Doesn’t surprise me, seems everything is outsourced.
