HW Pick: Tahrir: Liberation Square At Maysles in Harlem (video)

You don’t want to miss our next Members Night Out. We are having a reception for members on June 17, at 6:30 before the screening of Tahrir: Liberation Square.Meet fellow members and be the first to hear about upcoming programs and events at the cinema.
Tahrir: Liberation Square is part of the Documentary in Bloom series and is a powerful documentary that goes beyond headlines and into the heart of the popular Egyptian revolution that overthrew President Mubarak. Archaeologist Stefano Savona’s portrait of the seething, chanting crowds and electric protest speeches is anchored by fluid exchanges with a handful of individual protesters. This film was a highlight of the New York and Locarno Film Festivals (the trailer is below).
If you aren’t a member yet, become a Maysles Institute member today! Not only will you get free admission to regular screenings for one year, you will get invitations to special members only screenings, previews and events.

This event is exclusive to Maysles cinema members and requires a reservation to attend. To RSVP email member@mayslesinstitute.org. You can become a member at mayslesinstitute.org/membership.
