In a commencement ceremony that had the audience clapping to tunes from the Tony award-winning musical “MEMPHIS,” 131 candidates for the doctor of osteopathic medicine (DO) degree received their diplomas on June 5 from the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) in Harlem. Civil rights activist Dr. Hazel N. Dukes, president of the NAACP New York State Conference, received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters.
