The Democratic legend — who thought he had a 22nd term locked up when The Associated Press called last Tuesday’s primary, with him up by 6% of the vote — fired off an SOS email Monday, asking supporters for $10 donations.

Rangel’s help-me missive was dispatched as his top challenger, state Sen. Adriano Espaillat, alleged possible voter suppression and blasted the Board of Elections for “irregularities” in the vote-counting process.
