On Saturday, August 18th, 2012 the Marius Family had its Ancestral Celebration/Family Re-Union at the Tian Restaurant, Riverbank State Park, at 145th St. & Riverside Drive in Harlem. The busy family gathered together to share and celebrate their ancestral heritage. Part of the celebration was celebrating elders like Hugh Marius who turned 92 years young, and is recovering from hip surgery, and Susan Dujon who turned 101 years young this year.
As a Harlem family they have much to celebrate: one of the brothers runs the Rucker Basketball Leaque tournament; their mother was Director of Harlem Central Senior Citizens Group and with a daughter on the board; a family member is Co-leader of the Fred Samuel Democratic Club and Chairman of the board and president of the 138th Street Block Association.
