An interesting event is coming up on September 22nd at Governors Island featuring distinguished poets Yusef Komunyakaa, Tan Lin, Paul Muldoon and Brenda Shaughnessy read from their work amid large-scale steel sculptures by Mark di Suvero. On view in the exhibition Mark di Suvero at Governors
Island: Presented by Storm King Art Center. In selecting the works they will
read, the poets have drawn inspiration from Mr. di Suvero’s art.
The program has been co-organized by Storm King Art Center and Poets
House, and is made possible by the Maurice English Poetry Award through
Helen W. Drutt English. It’s going to be extraordinary, and Governors Island closes September 30, so it’s one of the last chances people will have to see things there.
Accessible by ferry from lower Manhattan and Brooklyn.
