The National Give Back for Kids Campaign, Inc., launched a nationwide screening tour for the music video of its theme song “GIVE BACK,” performed by rising vocalist Xavier Lewis, on Monday, July 2, 2012 in Philadelphia. The official New York City screening and fundraiser for the tour will take place on Thursday, September 13, 2012 at the AMC Magic Johnson Theaters, 2309 Frederick Douglas Blvd., Harlem, NY at 6:30pm. The evening will also feature the honoring of three New York City Heroes: Prominent Attorney, David A. Critchlow, Esq., Carmen Morris-Givan, former Board Member of St. Aloysius Day Care Center in Harlem and Henry Comas, long-time East Harlem Community Leader.
The 30-city, GIVE BACK FREEDOM TOUR, which continues through July and August, in addition to Philadelphia includes: Detroit, Miami, Cincinnati, Oakland, Providence, Jackson (MS), Indianapolis, The Berkshires (MA), Chicago, Napa Valley, Long Island, San Francisco, New York City, Martha’s Vineyard (MA), Pittsburgh, Houston, Los Angeles, White Plains (NY), District of Columbia, Albany (NY), Boston, St. Louis, Newark and Atlanta. In October, November and December the tour will conclude with the international phase targeting the following cities: Montreal, Toronto, London, Monrovia (Liberia) and Cape Town (South Africa).
The single, co-written by Lewis, a former America’s Got Talent finalist, and National Give Back for Kids Executive Director, Hosea James Givan II, aims to inspire successful adults to connect with young people. Proceeds from the song, now available on iTunes and Amazon, will benefit the organization’s mission – creating partnership opportunities between adults, many of whom have benefitted from the dedication of volunteers, and young people throughout nationwide youth programs. “The mission of our highly charged and urgent grassroots movement is to help inspire, create and maintain a culture of giving back,” according to Founder and Executive Director, Hosea James Givan II. “We want to help create a world for our children where they will be FREE to live happy, healthy and productive lives. FREE of violence. FREE to play safely on the streets,” says Rachel Cheeks-Givan, Founder, Board Member and wife of Hosea.
The suggested donation for the event is $20. For more info call 1-800-Give Back (1-800-448-3222).
