The Brooklynettes, the creatively titled, six-woman cheerleading team for the newly relocated Brooklyn Nets, debuted their official uniforms yesterday. No surprise here — they’re low-cut, tight, and very short, but what were you expecting anyway? Retro swimsuits? Admittedly, the Cotton Comes To Harlem black knee-high dance boots are pretty fly, but overall we’re much more interested in the individual ladies who make up the team — Amanda, Angelica, Jessica, Siobhan, Jen, and Jennifer — who are just begging for the inevitable Spice Girl comparisons (guess which one is ginger). If they don’t have a reality show contract by the end of the first season The Brooklynette Girlfriends (or hell, the end of next week), then something is deeply wrong.
Okay, where are the Harlemworksits, the Harlemdivas or the Harlemtrotters, oh, I guess we need a Harlem Center first.
