Alicia Keys And Kerry Washington To Be Honored At ‘Black Girls Rock’

Harlem momma Alicia Keys and Kerry Washington will be among the honorees at this year’s “Black Girls Rock” show that will air next month on BET.

Actress Kerry Washington, singers Alicia Keys and Dionne Warwick, and writer and Harlem lady  Susan L. Taylor will be honored at this year’s Black Girls Rock awards ceremony.

The 2nd annual awards show was taped October 13 at the Loews Theatre in New York City. R&B songbirds Ciara, Brandy, India Arie and Keyshia Cole are scheduled to perform.

“We’re thrilled to once again partner with Beverly Bond and her fantastic organization to bring to the screen the 2012 edition of BLACK GIRLS ROCK!” said Stephen Hill, BET’s President of Music Programming and Specials. “It’s truly an honor to recognize our celebrants who have accomplishments in a wide variety of fields. Look for some very special performances from an array of genres. BLACK GIRLS ROCK! is empowering, uplifting, fun…and perfect on BET!”

Congrats to them….we think black girls rock too.
