Join The 2012 Public Meeting For Community Benefits Agreement

Greetings,

Over 4 years ago Columbia University made a great deal with the New York City to acquire most of the land West of Broadway from 125th to 133rd Street. In return for the land they and local officials created the Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) which specified what Columbia must give back to the community in Jobs, trainings, money and other incredible concessions. Unfortunately for the past 4 years the “local powers” have kept it under tight wraps and in the midst of gridlock.

Finally a few months ago a new organization was created out of the old one. The West Harlem Development Corporation is now charged with administering the CBA and if they continue on the path they are on we  and the community will benefit greatly. (Peruse the site www.westharlemdc.org, read the CBA if you have time, its great reading. Its currently one of the largest agreements in the country).
