NYDailyNews reports that a Harlem cop was arrested by the FBI on Wednesday. Gilberto Valle III, 28, of Forest Hills, Queens, a six-year vet, was charged with conspiracy to commit kidnapping, unauthorized use of computer access, and eating female body parts, according to a criminal complaint.
“The allegations in the complaint really need no description from us,” FBI Acting Assistant Director Mary E. Galligan said in a statement issued Thursday. “ They speak for themselves. It would be an understatement merely to say Valle’s own words and actions were shocking.”
The complaint said investigators had uncovered a file on Valle’s computer containing the names and pictures of at least 100 women, as well as the addresses and physical descriptions of some of them.
Officer Valle, who worked in the 26th Precinct in Manhattan and lives in Forest Hills, Queens, is not known to have engaged in any of the acts he discussed, one person said, speaking on condition of anonymity because the charges remain under seal.
In one message to a co-conspirator, Officer Valle wrote that he was contemplating cooking a person “over a low heat, keep her alive as long as possible,” according to the complaint.
“The allegations in the complaint really need no description from us,” Mary E. Galligan, the F.B.I. acting assistant director, said in a statement. “They speak for themselves. It would be an understatement merely to say Valle’s own words and actions were shocking.”
A spokesman for the New York Police Department could not immediately be reached for comment.
