Over the past few days Harlem and New Yorker City has experienced the devastation of super storm Hurricane Sandy.
One of the most pressing needs for New Yorkers is access to timely, accurate information about the status of essential City services, transportation disruptions, as well as access to where to find food, water and shelter.
Storm Alert: Several news sources are now reporting that NYC should anticipate near-freezing temperatures, more rain, snow or wind in the next week– ultimately exacerbating effects of Sandy on the region.
The New York City Office of Emergency Management (OEM) is encouraging all New York residents and visitors to sign up for Notify NYC (#NotifyNYC), the City’s official emergency notification system for the latest information on weather, school closures, subway disruptions, and traffic advisories in all areas of the city.
