ESPN.go.com posted a photograph of Camacho’s coffin coming out of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church landmark in East Harlem where the fighter attended as a boy, as hundreds cheered and shouted “Macho.”

In Harlem style Harlem World Magazine reported that the Camacho’s body was carried by a horse-drawn carriage across 116th Street.

The Greenwichtime.com reports that Hector Camacho Jr. attends the memorial service of his father, the former boxing champion Hector “Macho” Camacho in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012.

Mail.com reports that supporters gather to hail Hector “Macho” Camacho as one of the greatest boxers of all time who won super lightweight, lightweight and junior welterweight world titles in the 1980s and fought high-profile bouts against Felix Trinidad, Julio Cesar Chavez and Sugar Ray Leonard.

“The scene inside was peaceful. Everybody is here supporting. He come out of Spanish Harlem and make something out of himself,” said Christian Camacho, one of Hector Camacho’s four sons.

“He didn’t deserve to die in such manner,” said Minerva Martinez, a 60-year-old from East Harlem who showed a photo of Hector Camacho with a Puerto Rican flag.

“He was a great fighter and a wonderful person, always happy.”

After a Mass at the church on Saturday, Hector Camacho is to be buried at the St. Raymond’s Cemetery in the Bronx.
