Bill Lynch Senior Associate Heads to National Action Network

Today, Bill Lynch Associates, LLC (BLA), the premier African-American owned and operated public affairs firm in New York, announced that Senior Associate LaMon Bland will be named National Field Director of Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network (NAN), one of the country’s leading civil rights organizations.  

Bland, a Senior Associate of BLA, and who holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Georgia State University and Juris Doctor from Howard Law School, joined the BLA team in 2011, practicing in the areas of government relations and campaign strategy.

“LaMon has been a dedicated associate, he is focused, energetic, and will be a valuable addition to National Action Network,” said Lynch. “I take pride in grooming young talent and I believe LaMon has the potential to be a great leader.”

“Not only is Bill Lynch one of the top strategists in the state and is one of the best organizers of our time, but he is a great teacher that encourages young leaders to grow,” said Bland. “I am grateful and I am looking forward to applying the organizing knowledge I acquired under the tutelage of Bill Lynch, while combining Rev. Sharpton’s leadership expertise in civil rights and social justice. This will be one of the most exciting challenges of my career.”

In 2009, Bland served as manager of New York City Councilwoman Inez Dickens’s re-election campaign. After a successful campaign, Bland worked in the City Council’s Office of the General Counsel, serving as Counsel to the Rules Committee and Parliamentarian. During his tenure he was also Counsel to the 2011 New York City Lobbying Commission. Bland served as Co-Chair to of the Civic Engagement Committee of the NAACP Mid-Manhattan Branch. He is also licensed to practice in New York State.

In his new position, Bland will lead national organizing efforts for NAN and will implement a robust plan of action for chapter expansion.

Al Sharpton added, “anyone who graduates from the ‘school of Bill Lynch’ not only understands the fundamentals of great leadership, but knows the importance of our fight for one standard of justice, decency and equal opportunities for all people. We are looking forward to having him on board as our continue our work in Civil Rights.”
