East Harlem Preservation reports that the community uproar over the NYC Districting Commission’s latest changes to District 8 has taken a new turn as local residents are now directing their anger at Council Speaker Christine Quinn, who holds great influence on how the lines are ultimately drawn.

In its latest incarnation, the new map would shift the majority of District 8 to the Bronx and give control of Randall’s Island to Council District 22 in Queens. The Speaker has also incurred the wrath of other good government activists intent on spoiling her mayoral hopes.
