Edwina Findley And Kelvin Dickerson Tie Knot

On Saturday, November 17, among a warm crowd of family and close friends, Actress Edwina Findley, who currently plays Davina Lambreaux” in HBO’s Treme and Ad Executive/Time Management Coach Kelvin Dickerson became man and wife.

Romantically themed “The Wedding” saved the date collateral mimicking a motion picture release and tailored made invitations resembling box office tickets celebrating the couple’s bi-coastal romance were mailed months in advance in anticipation of the joyous occasion. The cinematic theme was brought to life as worship singers, a praise dance performance, spoken word presentation and a film short highlighting Edwina and Kelvin’s inspirational love story preceded the grand entrance of the bride who wore a beaded mermaid gown by Allure Couture with accessories and shoes by Badgley Mischka. The groom received his lovely bride in a slate gray Calvin Klein tuxedo. Joined together by Dr. A.R. Bernard of Christian Cultural Center in Brooklyn, one of the highlight of the spiritually uplifting ceremony was a solo performance by Edwina’s mom Rose West who serenaded the couple who met in church with a moving rendition of “In This Very Room” – a fitting tune for highlighting the couple’s spiritual journey.

 An exclusive red carpet procession at TAJ in Manhattan followed the ceremony where guest posed before a step and repeat banner emblazed with the couples image. After the formal introduction of Mr. & Mrs. Dickerson, family, friends and guests danced the night away. The couple honeymooned Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and will reside in Los Angeles, CA.

 A Washington, DC native, Edwina attended the Duke Ellington School of the Arts, and is a graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. She recently starred in Ava DuVernay’s box office smash, “Middle of Nowhere”, winner at Sundance 2012. Television viewers may best remember Edwina as “Tosha Mitchell”, Omar’s gun-toting side-kick on HBO’s hit series, The Wire. Kelvin is a Hampton, VA native and a graduate of Howard University.
