Paterson to Teach at Medical School in Harlem

David PatersonTwo months after his radio show was canceled, former Gov. David A. Paterson has found a new, unexpected position: as a medical school professor.

Mr. Paterson, who was governor from 2008 to 2010, is joining the faculty at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in Harlem. He will serve as a distinguished professor of health care and public policy and lecture on health care legislation and the relationship between government and the health care system, the college said.

“It is clear that public policy will continue to play an ever-greater role in the provision of health care, and we want our students to have a deep understanding of their profession,” the president of Touro College, Alan Kadish, said in a statement. “Having David Paterson offer his insight will prove to be invaluable.”

Since leaving office, Mr. Paterson has taught at New York University and he hosted an afternoon show on WOR-AM from September 2011 until December 2012, when the station was acquired by Clear Channel. Mr. Paterson also serves on the board of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
