The ” When Harlem saved a King” evening at Sylvia’s Also was very cordial, subject matter notwithstanding. The preview trailer was very well put together, definitely making you want to see the entire product.
Producers Al Cohen (left) and Wayne Davis have thoroughly researched this project and found to their surprise that not many people were aware of the 1958 incident in Blumstein’s on 125th St. Their quest to tell this story can be nothing but successful. Text and photo by Rudy Collins.
