[2316 First Avenue] harlem nyA photograph of a great wooden tavern on the corner of 2316 First Avenue at 119th Street in East Harlem, New York, 1932.

In the foreground the photographer stands in the intersection of the cobblestone streets at First Avenue and 119th Street with the Harlem Trolley tracks running north and south. In the center of frame sits an old three story Harlem wooden tavern with what looks like tavern doors on each side of the entrance. The image is framed by two kids playing on the sidewalk on the left and right side in front of two barbershops trimmed with awnings.

The photograph is from the source by Charles Von Urban.
