Who’s Behind Harlem World Magazine?

Harlem World Magazine was founded in 2002 and incorporated in 2003 by Daniel Tisdale. Tisdale follows a long tradition of working in publishing from his uncle Charles Tisdale (right) who was founder of the Jackson Advocate in Mississippi to Daniel Tisdale’s (below) work at Interview, Paper and Detail Magazines as Advertising Production Director.

Harlem World Magazine is run by professional editors, writers, photographers and videographers who live in or near Harlem, and is supported by a great team in our Harlem headquarters. Harlem World Magazine also gets advice from our Advisory Board and from many members of the community.

We look forward to meeting you, hearing your stories, and being your trusted source for community-specific information.

We hope that our sites will strengthen the community and improve the lives of residents, but we can’t do it without you. Harlem World Magazine is interested in forging relationships with media partners, big and small.
