It’s a part of a TV series by the Harlem-based National Black Programming Consortium (NBPC) hosted by acclaimed actor Anthony Mackie (“8 Mile,” “The Hurt Locker” and “Pain & Gain”).

Years after the civil war in Sierra Leone ended, senior rebel leader Issa Sesay was put on trial by the U.N. Special Court. Prosecutors said he was a war criminal. Rounding out the series is Bobbito García and Kevin Couliau’s “Doin’ It in the Park: Pick-Up Basketball, NYC,” co-presented by Latino Public Broadcasting, a film about  the playground basketball movement that led to a worldwide sports phenomenon (January 13); Hoku Uchiyama’s “Upaj: Improvise,” co-presented by the Center for Asian American Media, which follows the unexpected artistic collaboration of two dance masters—Indian Kathak guru Pandit Chitresh Das and African-American tap star Jason Samuels Smith; Daan Veldhuizen’s “Stories from Lakka Beach,”  which gives a view of life in the post-conflict nation of Sierra Leone through the tales of a colorful mix of villagers (February 3); and Keith Aumont’s “Boys of Summer” sports documentary, which follows a baseball team from Curaçao battling to compete in the Little League World Series for the eighth year in a row (February 10).
