What, ‘Arctic’ Front To Bring Freezing Temps From Harlem To Hollis

From Harlem to Hollis could experience record low temperatures as an “arctic” cold front moves in Thursday night, according to the  National Weather Service.

Temperatures will drop Thursday night once the front arrives and could plunge into the low 20s by Friday night, the federal weather service Patch reports.

“An arctic front will pass through the region late tonight bringing January like temperatures to the area Friday into Saturday,” the National Weather Service wrote. “Record low temperatures are possible Friday Night, with temperatures falling into the upper teens to lower 20s for the urban corridor.”

First Snow Could Hit NYC Before Thanksgiving

The record low temperature for Nov. 10 in the city is 27 degrees. Forecasters say temperatures could drop to 23 on Friday night, with wind gusts making it feel like the mid teens. A “freeze watch” has been issued for the area.

The front is expected to leave the area by Sunday and into early next week, when temperatures will be back in the 40s and 50s.
