An East Harlem nursing school is getting a sex injection. “Love and Basketball” heartthrob Boris Kodjoe will serve as the commencement speaker during Helene Fuld College of Nursing’s May 2 graduation ceremony before 140 graduating healthcare professionals and their friends and families.
The E. 120th St. institution reached out to the “Baggage Claim” actor earlier this year hoping to land a celeb familiar with the challenges of the health care industry.
Kodjoe’s 9-year-old daughter Sophie suffers from spina bifida, a birth defect that causes spinal damage. Kodjoe become an advocate for children diagnosed with the disease.
“He has a strong understanding of health care providers and health care needs,” said President Dr. Wendy Robinson.

Still, Kodjoe isn’t the only highlight of the cap-and-gown ceremony. The college will be graduating its first-ever class of Bachelor of Science students, part of Robinson’s goal to usher more minorities into advanced education.
Most graduates of the 69-year-old school have earned a two-year nursing degree, said Robinson.
“This is our first graduation for bachelor students,” said Robinson. “We wanted to do something special.” Source
