The spectacular Macy’s July 4th fireworks display will light up the sky over the Hudson River again in 2011. In 2009, the Macy’s fireworks display moved across town from its traditional East River location to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the exploration of the Hudson River by Henry Hudson. For 2011, Macy’s will once again stage a showstopping pyrotechnic show over the Hudson River off the West side of Manhattan. The Macy’s July 4th fireworks display originally made its debut on the Hudson River in 1958 before becoming an East River tradition in 1976. Continue reading
