Target has opened their first store in Harlem, East Harlem to exact, and what better place than Harlem! On July 20th 2010, Target held an exclusive “in – store party” meet and greet where designers, the media and fab fashionista’s mingled and mixed. Stores and boutiques selling arts, music and personal style attract people of Caribbean, African, African-American and Latino descent, among others from all over the world. Street vendors selling body scents, African literature and President Obama hats, speeches set to soul songs, and coffee mugs are as much a part of local life as harmony at the Apollo Theatre and soul food at Sylvia’s Restaurant.
