The City College of New York Langston Hughes Festival Honors Ntozake Shange

ntozake-shange1Seminal poet, performance artist, playwright, and novelist Ntozake Shange is best known for her 1975 award winning theatre piece For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide/When the Rainbow Is Enuf.

Also, she is the author of many works including Betsey Brown, A Daughter’s Geography, Ellington Was Not a Streetand Some Sing, Some Cry. Shange will be presented with the Langston Hughes Medal following day-long festival events dedicated to her work.
