City Parks Foundation Gala With Warwick, Kidjo And Others

June 17, 2015

cityparks event galaThe 2015 City Parks Foundation Gala will take place at SummerStage in Central Park on July 22, with an all-star concert during which we will look back at 1986, our inaugural year.

Artists scheduled to perform include Debbie Harry, Dionne Warwick, Angelique Kidjo and Colin Hay, all singing renditions of their favorite songs from the ’80s, including a performance of the #1 song from 1986! Just as SummerStage – the largest free performing arts festival in New York City – presents artists of the highest quality across multiple disciplines and genres, so too will our Gala.

Each year we present the People and Parks Award to a recipient who shares our commitment to enriching New York City. At this year’s gala, Joan Jett and Kenny Laguna will present music industry legend Steve Leber with the award.  Mr. Leber has earned a stellar reputation as a rock music manager and producer while working with numerous major artists and presenting many live stage productions.  He is recognized as one of the most innovative forces in the entertainment industry. We are thrilled to be able to recognize his contributions to the field, as well as his contributions to the City of New York.
