This photograph documents the transition at the turn of the century when developers moved from building single family structures into multiple dwellings. Nearly all of the thirty two buildings built in this area between 1903 and 1930.

These buildings were built with brick and stone facades, reflecting a range of mostly neo-classical styles, especially Renaissance and Colonial Revival (Source).
