605-west-129th-street-777x518Construction is nearly complete on Columbia University’s nine-story, 557,149-square-foot Jerome L. Green Science Center building, located at 605 West 129th Street, on the corner with Broadway in the Manhattanville section of Harlem. The facility was built as the first phase of Columbia’s Manhattanville campus expansion.

The facility will be used for research, which means it will host laboratories and offices. There will also be a lecture hall and retail space on the ground floor. The 176-foot-tall structure was designed by Renzo Piano Building Workshop. Opening is expected within the next few months, the Wall Street Journal reported.
