Dave East And His Baby’s Mother Trade Comments On Instagram

March 26, 2017

Dave East’s daughter Kairi is the center of his world, so much so that he’s titled his debut album after her (Kairi Chanel). However, his relationship with the mother of the child isn’t as rosy. After the baby’s mother Milagrito “Millie” Colin left an angry comment about not being able to see her child on a Shade Room post showing East and Kairi, Dave East clapped back with a tirade against the mother of his child.

In the comment, he claims Millie hasn’t taken care of the child in two years and called the police on him, telling them he was a gang member and on drugs. The police officers left East alone after seeing the child was living with her father, and told Millie to leave. That wasn’t the end of things though.

After the incident, Millie posted her own lengthy comment, ironically lamenting that “it’s a shame that our business is being exposed to social media” and that “it’s a shame how this is the only way to get a quick response when I couldn’t even get in contact with Dave for a conversation.” The post also refutes a number of things the Harlem-born rapper wrote about Millie in his comment. Hopefully the two can work it out, because every kid deserves to see both their mother and father.
